The Gift

In every situation, good or bad, there are lessons to be learned. We’ll call those lessons The Gift.

It’s your choice whether or not you open that gift – to acknowledge it or more to the point, to accept it. It seems to me though, that unless you learn from the lesson, it will return and return to you until the lesson is learned. Perhaps the challenge won’t be exactly the same, but it will return. How many times have you felt you are reliving the same situation – or said of someone they seem to ‘like learning the hard way’ – where the hard way is where the lesson has gone beyond the obvious and now seems harsh?

The Lesson

Only when the lesson is learned will you be able to move on – most likely to the next challenge but with a different lesson. Life is a series of lessons, it seems!
2020 has been a challenging year for many. I have heard it said that we are all in the same boat – and equally that we are not in the same boat but in the same storm. Either way this year has brought challenges for all. And within these challenges lie our lessons – these are our gifts.

My Gift to You

The joy of life, it seems to me, is not in the suffering of these lessons, nor in reaching the destination unscathed (as that would probably mean having lived an uneventful life) – but rather to accept that the joy is in the journey: its ups and downs, the people you meet and even in the pain of some of those lessons.
On 21st December at 7pm on Zoom I will be offering a yoga session to help you uncover those gifts. A time to pause in the present and to look at the past or more recent challenges and take the lessons from them (you may not be aware of those lessons just yet) so you can move into the future with ease and grace. Live from my home to yours and recorded should you wish to view at a later time. 21st December is the shortest day of the year – the winter solstice. This yoga class will help you bring forth your gifts so that you can end the year on a positive note.
