Morning Yoga – Join us

Good morning world it’s a brand-new day! Do you get out of bed feeling creaky (I do) and possibly thinking a bit longer in bed won’t hurt – after all, no need to rush, especially if you no longer work?

Our bodies are designed to sleep when it’s dark and rise with the sun. Years of ‘life’ can leave you feeling disconnected with the natural rhythm, but it’s possible to reboot and reconnect. Set a regular bed time, get out in nature – and yes, start the day at a regular time. Maybe with a bit of morning yoga – join us!

Every morning, Monday to Friday, you’ll find me online. 8am for 20 minutes via zoom.

Why Yoga in the morning?

Spending a little time each morning flowing through some Dru yoga can help to improve your flexibility, core strength, and balance – which makes it a great addition to your morning routine.

We keep it simple – after all, who is ready, at 8am, to dive into complicated routines, stretches or balances? 8am, in my world, is quite early!

That sleepy feeing?

Starting with a few simple movements to shake off that sleepy ‘just got out of bed’ feeling and taking a few breaths to get into the body we move gently into some spine awareness – side to side movements, forward and backward as well as some divine spinal twists. The basic movements to gently direct the spine into a beautiful space.

Meditation in Motion

From there we move into some meditative movements to match the breath – maybe a simple balance (if I’m feeling brave) – maybe a simple sequence for a range of physical movements and stretches. We might invite connecting with the seasons, the elements, the moon phases – yoga is a wonderful way of connecting with nature, and through our morning practice we can invite that connection. Morning yoga is a wonderful way to begin the day with a positive mindset, a loose body and a sense of calm.

There’s no obligation to turn on your camera – just turn up, follow along and enjoy. All the movements are accessible to anybody – you can even sit down and follow along from a chair. If you would like to discuss any special requirements, please get in touch here.
