Stranded – Dru Yoga at the Lighthouse

Stranded – Dru Yoga at the Lighthouse

This coming Sunday is our winter Stranded – Dru Yoga at the Lighthouse. An afternoon of delicious, relaxing and nourishing Dru Yoga at St Mary’s Lighthouse, Whitley Bay. Well, more correctly, St Mary’s Island.

The Plan

We go over to the lighthouse as the tide begins to approach the causeway, and as other visitors are ushered off the Island, we make our way to the cosy space within the lighthouse building ready for an afternoon of self-care via yoga, meditation and deep relaxation.

It’s up to me this week to prepare the schedule – and of course the snacks – for Sunday. We will be ‘stranded’ for 5 hours or so – too long to keep moving. The theme this time will be the heart – love – self-love and connection. There will be heart opening sequences and heart-based breathwork; a heart nourishing meditation and of course, a hand-picked love-filled token to remember the day.

Cosy up, slow down

In winter we often feel the need to cosy up – to slow down and to take a pause. In complete contrast to the busy-ness of the pre-Christmas rush. Stepping away from that busy-ness – even just for an afternoon – can feel like the ultimate indulgence.

Go with the flow

So, 5 hours to fill. Dru yoga, relaxation and meditation. The theme of heart-felt love.

My motto? Prepare – then simply go with the flow.

Can’t wait!
