Inner Strength
Inner strength is resilience. That quality inside that stands firm no latter what is going on around us. That sense of knowing who we are that helps us stand firm no matter what life throws at us.
Don’t get me wrong – sometimes the tipping force can be so great that we fall. And her our inner strength gives us the courage to stand back up and carry on.
So where does that inner strength come from, where does it reside – and how can we reinforce it?
Inner Strength – Where does it come from?
Inner strength often comes from life experience – when we’ve waded through those life battles and come out the other side feeling empowered. When we’ve learned the lesson and can look back with gratitude that those challenges came our way.
Inner Strength – where does it live?
It resides exactly where you feel it in your body – do you get butterflies? dietary challenges? Headache? That sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach? Have you ever stopped to observe where you feel it in your body?
Does your heart race? your appetite disappear? Is your sleep disturbed?
All these can be an indication of stress – or a period where your inner strength has temporarily deserted you.
How can we call back our power?
Remember the body and mind are linked – where stress (or lack of resilience) is present, the body has symptoms. If we focus on the body symptoms we can affect the mental state. Not be masking the symptoms with pain killers – but by positively taking control and activating the body. We use movement, breath and affirmations to bring about a change of state in the body and mind. We use deep relaxation and meditation to provide space for self care – and therefore self healing.
Inner Strength – Dru Yoga
In Dru Yoga we offer sequences which directly help to activate those areas of stuck energy – and in helping energy flow in the body we make space for healing. When the body is free the mind can relax. In Dru yoga we have both general and specific sequences to reduce stress in the body (and therefore the whole system) and to boost our inner strength.
