Retreat at the Island
After 2 cancelled events due to the venue being closed it was a delight to be back at this most fabulous venue for an afternoon of yoga and relaxation.
The tide is rising fast
As I drove from home along the coast towards the car park at the head of the causeway I began to panic – the tide was already high on the beach and the waves as tall as I’d ever seen them; although the causeway wasn’t due to cover for another 25 minutes ‘at the earliest’.
With a closer view I relaxed a little – there was definitely time for me to get across. Fingers crossed the people joining me would also be on time!
Stranded
The causeway covered at 11:30. All my participants had arrived and we settled into our space for the afternoon – gathering at the head of the causeway to watch the waves lap over the concrete causeway – that knowing that we were truely landed.
A warm room and plenty space. I had spent a considerable time preparing the music and 2 lovely flowing sequences – a journey up the mountain to a lovely peaceful waterfall and in the second part the trip back down. Stretch, flow, relax.
In the break I offered time to reflect and get some fresh air – the island is surrounded by wildlife enjoying the peace and quiet in this time when visitors or not on the island. Lots of migrating birds of numerous types plus seals on the rocks at the back of the island.
Relax
As the afternoon drew to a close the finale was a deep relaxation – a
trip through the chakras as we aim to rebalance and prepare for the changes we face in our daily lives at this time. This had taken me a few hours of writing, reading and timing – and who could recall any of what I had said afterwards? – no-one. I had recorded the relaxation though – and today will email that to those who took part.
