Time for a Makeover?
We are more than our physical body – but whenever we think of a makeover it’s the physical body that always gets the attention.
Does the very thought of a makeover conjure up images of some cosmetic surgery and new clothes – perhaps a new smile, hairdo and toned up body? We are more than our physical body. Our emotions, thoughts and deeper sense of self are equally part of the equation. Perhaps starting within is the place to start that makeover journey?
More than a trinket
Maybe it’s not as glamorous – certainly not the quick fix of lip fillers, a new haircut or a wardrobe makeover, but in the longer term, looking and amending our inner patterns might ultimately bring us greater joy than any trinket possibly could.
I’m talking the sort of mind makeover that allows you to reboot your mindset, a calm and confident polish that will invariably shine through to the outside without the need for a new wardrobe.
Where to begin?
There are a few ways of going about such a makeover: hypnotherapy, NLP and a number of other mind-therapies. In yoga we turn to the ancient art of meditation.
What is Meditation?
The journey to the innermost self by learning to find that stillness within. The gift of time for yourself that enables you to make friends with your physical body and gently explore your mind in your own time.
I often describe Dru Yoga as a meditation in movement. It is a physically beautiful practice which connects the body and breath to create a beautiful level of mindfulness. Moving into 2021 my plan is to bring Dru meditation to my classes.
