The stillness inside
Life is such a rush – so many distractions. So much to do. How’s your to-do list today?
Do you find yourself continually looking for answers? Rushing through life scarcely noticing the changing of the seasons as you plough through the week with one eye on the weekend gone, and the other on the weekend to come? The days pass in a blur, the weeks even faster, making enough money to pay the bills and maybe even a little something nice for the weekend?
What’s the rush?!
One thing I noticed when I finally left my day-job was that there was now less to pay for – how odd! – no longer did I need the car to get to and from work, someone to clean the home I barely saw and look after the children who I only saw in passing. The husband? – well he sloped off years ago. No time for that. All that time making money to pay for a lifestyle I wasn’t enjoying.
And then? – a new lifestyle to create. One with a new home to enjoy. No rushing about. Less expenses. More time.
More time
More time to watch the seasons pass. The trees waking up from winter, buds appearing, the changing quality of the green of the leaves. So much stuff – was it always there?
More time to feel the changes inside. To notice – how does it feel? Does it sit well with me? Is this what I want for me?
The Stillness Inside
Inside us all there is a still point – our own North Star, if you will. Our personal guiding light, which, if we choose to listen, will help us navigate the stormy seas we find ourselves thrust upon in these crazy times. The most important life skill I’ve picked up in recent years? – Dru meditation and Dru Yoga: the key to the stillness inside.
