A Kind of Magic
In last week’s blog I talked about the the mind:body connection and how it’s a 2-way street: how the way you hold and move your body has an immediate effect on how you feel – therefore influencing how others perceive you.
mind body connection
Let’s take that logic a little further. Your beliefs affect your thoughts – which affect your emotions – which affect the way you hold yourself and move your body – which affect your actions – which affect your results and perception or those results. Rather than start on your beliefs how about breaking the chain at the body: so how you move and hold the body can now affect not only the actions, but actually will affect your emotions – which will affect your thoughts – and ultimately your beliefs about yourself.
invite the magic in
If you feel better about yourself because your body is reporting in to your mind that it’s feeling strong, connected, earthed – and as a result when you walk into a room or stand your ground in your space others see you as strong, confident and someone they can rely on – what could happen in your life?
I’m not suggesting for a minute that you ‘fake it til you make it’, rather that through repeated gentle yoga postures and flows that you invite that change of body and mind into your life. Gradually opening the doors to a new dawn. Gently shuffling things that have been holding you back to one side. Creating space where fear, negativity or self doubt once resided for love, positivity and confidence.
Life is a Journey
I’m aware that can all sound somewhat overwhelming – perhaps a little crazy. But that has been my path – the ongoing experience I have from practicing Dru yoga for the last 5 years. Life is a journey.
A Kind of Magic
If you give me an hour of your time and come along to one of our online classes – or hopefully soon one of the ‘in person’ classes I will show you the power of Dru yoga. I will demonstrate that how you hold and move your body can drastically change the way you feel about yourself – and hence how others perceive you, thus influencing how you can better navigate your day to day life – and maybe even invite incredible change into it!
It truly is ‘A Kind of Magic’.
