Yoga in Lockdown
Do you have a regular yoga practice? Do you practice at home on your own or using a recorded class – or do you attend in-person classes?
There are certainly a lot of options for the yoga student, all having their merits of course. Any yoga is good, right?!
For those of us who have been dipping our toes back into the realms of in-person teaching after months of no teaching, or online teaching the latest CV-19 restrictions have come as a blow. For me, having a class of students in the same room is a different vibe to standing in front of a camera. I get, though, that for people who have been coming to my classes and like the way I teach, that I need to offer to opportunity to continue the service. Plus, to be fair, I do enjoy sharing Dru Yoga by whatever means is available.
Zoom yoga
So for those who want it – back to zoom it was this morning. The kitchen becomes a studio with a quick shuffle of the pile of dishes and the kettle – the addition of some lighting if needed and sound-check for the music. Oh – plus make sure you remember to press record for those wanting I copy later – and mic check to keep the voice consistent.
I sincerely hope it’s working for those who turn up for class from their own space. And I sincerely hope we can meet again soon in person. I’m feeling that this time around that there’s less people actually ‘staying home’ and numbers of those who are able to attend will be far down from last time. What a strange world we live in!
Classes are
Every weekday 7:45am for Mindful Movement Dru Yoga style
Monday 11:30am for Yoga for a Healthy Back
Monday 7pm for Stretch and Relax
Wednesday 9:30 for Dru Yoga
See you on the zoom-space!
